KMLA EDS is the only parliamentary English debate club at our high school. I have joined EDS since 10th grade and led the club as a captain in 11th grade. As a captain, I initiated a one-on-one mentoring program and organized a friendly debate match with other school debate clubs.
EDS has participated in and won various high school debate tournaments held in Korea. In 2019, we became a champion at the Cornell-Yonsei Debate Invitational, Grand Finalist at the Korea University Debate Competition, and Grand Finalist at the Korea Schools Open (International Competition with 150+ teams from 7 nations).
To me, EDS is not just a club. It is a family, friend, and a mentor that I always could depend on even outside of the debate chamber. I hope to continue this journey at college.
